Ruth Jourjine has been a member and trustee of FoHVOS since 2013. She graduated from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, MA and is presently a self-employed visual artist maintaining a studio in her home in Stockton, NJ.
She has received numerous awards including the 2011 Award of Merit Images 2011, Robeson Gallery, Penn State, PA, the 2003 Mercer County Cultural and Heritage Purchase Award, NJ, the 1999 President’s Award, Ellarslie Open, Trenton, NJ, and the 1983 Clarissa Bartlett Traveling Scholarship, Boston MA.
Her artwork has been displayed throughout many art shows in Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Texas and New Jersey. A small listing includes the Harvard Leadership Conference, the Traveling Scholarship Exhibit of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, the New York Governor’s Island Art fair, Texas A&M International Gallery, and locally, the Grounds for Sculpture.
Ruth spearheaded the FOHVOS “Summer Triangles” introducing native plants to the public with an artistic flair. She also has been instrumental in bringing fungi studies at the Ted Stiles Preserve.
