The Strike Team and our partners have been working toward statewide eradication of Kudzu – a.k.a. “The vine that Ate the South”. The Early Detection & Rapid Response to Kudzu can prevent its inevitable spread which will be hastened by climate change. As of January 2024, we have confirmed the existence of 32 populations across the state – 4 of these are considered eliminated, 8 of these are being actively managed and heading toward elimination, and 20 remain untreated.
