Christmas Bird Count 2023

This December, the National Audubon Society is organizing its 124th Christmas Bird Count.  This is when volunteers conduct bird counts all across the country.  These counts take place Thursday, December 14, 2023 to Friday, January 5, 2024.  Each count occurs within a 15 mile wide diameter circle.  The nearest one to us is the Princeton Circle which includes portions of Pennington and Hopewell. You can find other bird count circles close to you through National Audubon Society here.

If you live within the circle, you can register to be a feeder counter if you would rather not go outside.  You can stay at home and report the birds that visit your feeder on count day.

This is a great way to help the Audubon Society gather information about bird species in our area and it is FREE to participate.
